Blanche Cave
One of Naracoorte's grand show caves, with vast chambers, fossil deposits and a long history of public tours.
Blanche Cave was among the first of the Naracoorte caves opened to visitors, with tours running since the 1880s. Its broad, light-filled chambers are reached through collapsed dolines, and early visitors even held concerts and picnics in the cavern.
Guided tours explore the connected chambers, pointing out the fossil-rich sediments and the marks left by more than a century of cave tourism. The cave forms part of the World Heritage listing recognising Naracoorte's extraordinary fossil record.
With its accessible scale and rich human story, Blanche is a gentle introduction to the underground world beneath the Naracoorte plains.
