Millicent Living History Museum
A sprawling regional museum in Millicent, home to the Geltwood shipwreck relics and a vast pioneer collection.
A regional treasure house
The Millicent Living History Museum is one of the largest and most varied folk museums in regional South Australia. Its galleries range from horse-drawn vehicles and vintage machinery to a re-created shipwreck display centred on the Geltwood, lost off the nearby coast in 1876.
Run by dedicated volunteers, the museum brings together pioneer life, the timber and drainage history of the district, and the maritime story of this dangerous coast, all under one roof beside the town's visitor centre.
