Reschke Wines
Sixth-generation Coonawarra cabernet on the famous terra rossa.
The Reschke family have farmed the Coonawarra district for more than a century, running cattle on the surrounding country long before the cigar-shaped strip of terra rossa became one of Australia's most coveted wine addresses.
Today the estate channels that heritage into structured, age-worthy cabernet sauvignon grown on the same red soil over limestone that gives Coonawarra its reputation. The wines lean classic and savoury rather than showy.
It's a name worth seeking out for anyone working their way along the Riddoch Highway and wanting a less-crowded tasting with deep local roots.
