Coast and caves road trip

Robe to Naracoorte across the Limestone Coast

3 days Road trippers and nature lovers 7 stops

The plan

The Limestone Coast earns its name: the same soft rock that grows Coonawarra's Cabernet also builds towering coastal dunes, hollows into vast cave systems, and shapes a coast of obelisks, lighthouses and salt lakes.

This three-day road trip starts in Robe, the prettiest of the South East's seaside towns, runs down the wild coast through Beachport and the dunes of Canunda, then turns inland to the World Heritage fossil caves at Naracoorte and the wetland birdlife of Bool Lagoon.

How to use it

Book a guided tour at Naracoorte to see the fossil chambers properly, and time the coast for calm weather so the swimming spots and lookouts are at their best.
