Geltwood Beach

Geltwood Beach

Wild 4WD beach in Canunda named for a famous shipwreck.

Geltwood Beach runs along the rugged edge of Canunda National Park, taking its name from the Geltwood, a sailing ship wrecked here in 1876 with the loss of all hands.

It's a wild, dune-backed strand best suited to 4WD access, surf fishing and walkers who like their coast empty and elemental.

The big dunes and pounding surf make it one of the most atmospheric beaches on the Limestone Coast, but conditions demand respect.
