The old-fashioned way
The Zema family emigrated from Calabria and planted their first Coonawarra vines in 1982. Almost uniquely in the region, they still hand-prune every vine, a labour-intensive approach they credit for the depth of their wines. Zema's Cabernet Sauvignon and the flagship Family Selection reds are generous, classically styled and great value. The cellar door is warm and unfussy.
